2012 Earthquakes

Fortunately for me I am not in Mexico, nor Banda Aceh, but I am starting to wonder. Sun activity, climate change, or what?

There were other earthquakes in Mexico and the Indian Ocean today.

Is there a cycle of some sort, this year of 2012?
