Rubio against Biden, both Catholic one Cuban the other of Irish descent. It gets a little more complicated, the Rubios went to a Mormon Church during part of their life, and Biden has French and other ancestry. Nevertheless my point here, is that Hispanics from Miami, all in all, differ politically from Mexicans all over the US.
The Cubans gravitate towards the conservative political persuasion, and the Mexicans towards the liberal end of the spectrum. I like Cubans, but somehow, I feel they have not been behind Mexican American issues, like immigration. Why should they?, any Cuban that sets foot in the US, no matter how he or she got here gets a pass. There is no such a thing as an illegal Cuban. By their origin, even terrorists like Luis Posada Carriles, aka Bambi, are welcome here.
I wouldn't be surprised if Cuban Americans were against the Dream act, notwithstanding Mr. Rubio's claims of sympathy towards my people.
Mr. Obama set the ball rolling on Friday, I eagerly await to see how the cookie falls.
