My sister and brother in law are coming back from their Summer vacation in Europe. Today reading La Jornada, a Mexican newspaper some people could call a UNAM newspaper, at least their online edition, has an article by another UNAM star, René Drucker Colín.
Good for them, they've earned it.
I am a UAGro star, maybe without tenure, but that is entirely my fault.
I just seize this opportunity to write a little anecdote.
Last time I went to Chicago, he was in the plane, not my brother in law, but Prof. Colín. We don't know each other socially, so even though he was taking a seat one row ahead of me, we didn't engage in conversation.
The anecdote is that when we were entering O'Hare International Airport immigration booth; there was a big line in the non-resident section, and I was surprised to see him go in my line. I do have a green card. He mentioned something to the immigration officer to the effect that the person with him had a right to be in that line, I think. He did get through.
UNAM stars shine everywhere, good for them.
