Polarization in Cells and Society

Previously I made a first attempt at using Ling's ideas to society, you can read here. Also in ``Living Cells as School of Fish.'' I am reading an article on the politics in my previous University in Puebla. Polarizing figures are crucial. We had Luis Rivera, and then Alfonso Vélez, and finally José Doger. These men marked the University, for good or ill.

Ling proposes that there are very polarizing elements in living cells, like water, and ATP. Imagine iron filings, and needles, in the presence of a strong magnet. You get order. Needles align in branches, and the filings attach themselves as leaves to the branches, forming an organized tree. The same way, Ling says, ATP orders all the autopoietic biomechanical machinery.

If I want to change society I have to become a polarizing figure.
