How Could There be Poor Peasants?

From Mexico, all the way to the Andes, you have poor peasants, also called campesinos. How could that be that people that domesticated corn and potatoes, are Poor? When food prices are going up the roof all over the world, the incongruousness of this situation is getting clearer and clearer.

The explanation is actually simple. Five hundred years ago, the Americans got sick with European diseases, and were enslaved. Five hundred years have passed, these Americans are immune now to European diseases, and they know how to grow food.

I predict that in a few years time, we won't have poor peasants anymore.
