I live in Guerrero state, south of Mexico. To the north of the state, in Ciudad Altamirano, there is a war. Either you support paramilitary and political forces, or you leave the area. A group of 107 people left yesterday. Read in Spanish here.
The new governor Angel Aguirre Rivero has started his war. The state attorney general Alberto Lopez Rosas says that the Government is ready to free that area, dominated by the other side. Mr. Lopez's father was a leader of poor people in Acapulco in the seventies; then my uncle, Gral. Ruben Uriza Castro, was in charge of state security. Rey Lopitos, as this man was called, was a headache for him.
War is back in Guerrero.
