Donaldson and Harrison

Donaldson's Theorem states that there are infinite four dimensional manifolds.  In other words, one can define different derivatives in four dimensions. Physics needs, so we think, a unique four dimensional definition of derivative in a manifold. Now Harrison tells us, that not all currents can be made into differential Dirac chains and vice versa.

Long live female mathematicians!

This week my little niece, who was born in Salt Lake City, is the organizer of a mathematics school.

Go girl, go!
