War?

Christian Parenti was today at DN! He  states  the UN prediction   of increased human mobility during this century. He calls for adaptation to this very likely situation. Here in Mexico I see what he is talking about: We are in a state of war in Guerrero. A high school teacher was kidnapped for a day, and let go for ransom to the tune of close to fifty thousand dollars.  He was singled out because he failed a student, related to the drug lords, that have taken over the town.

This is a five to six hour drive, from where I am sitting right now.

To the title question of this note, I answer:

Yes, there is war.
