The son of María Sabina?

''A perennial in the mint family related to the ornamental plant popular with gardeners, Salvia divinorum is native to Mexico and has historically been used by Mazatec shamans in religious rituals, where the large green leaves are chewed or made into a tea. (Some researchers have said the herb holds promise for developing new medicine to control pain and treat drug addiction.)''

NYT.

Loughner is Goth, and drug user.

Mexican Indians (María Sabina), have used these susbtances for centuries, they know how. But ``smart'', American kids don't have a clue.

I agree. Psychotropics have tremendous spiritual and psychological value when taken as part of an Indian religious ceremony. Not when taken recreationally by clueless American kids. I would like to learn more [link]. Thank you.

What a lucky guy to go to school here in the 70's.

Although when I arrived in the 90's it seemed a lot like the 70's.
