Background on AMLO's Allegations

AMLO stands for Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, he is the runner-up in the July First Mexican Presidential Election.

In a press conference today, he denounced the use of illicit funds for the winner's campaign.

Before you can understand the Washington Post article here, you need more background, on the current state of my country,  Mexico.

In my humble opinion, Mexico has been in a "Low Intensity War," since 2000, when Vicente Fox, won over two main candidates, the PRI presidential candidate, and Cuahtemoc Cardenas, now supporting AMLO.

Vicente Fox, and his successor  Felipe Calderon, did not exercise power correctly, and criminals took over many parts of the Mexican Economy. Minnesota Senator, Carl Levin, accused HSBC yesterday, of receiving illegal money from drug dealers.

I know how that happened. Bank tellers, and other officials can be, and very likely have been, kidnapped by criminals. You either play ball, or die.

I worked in the main public university in the State of Guerrero; if you know about Acapulco, you know about Guerrero. A score of professors have been kidnapped. Fortunately now I live in the US. In this country NOBODY is above the Law.

I am sorry to write here that in Mexico, you can be kidnapped for a few thousand dollars.

Shame on the current Government of Mexico!
