Politics and Human Suffering

President Obama and Mitt Romney decided not to engage in politics today, because of the very sad Colorado murders. I did engage in politics, though. I am not running for office, and my children are at an age where this crime could have hurt them. I am just trying to understand, not to proselytize. My note, may not sound all that "scientific," I know.

Lev loves Batman. He spent hours when he was a kid watching Batman cartoons. Leza was in high school, when the Columbine murders shocked all of us.

I have a PhD, and I am unemployed. I do not own a gun, and never in my life had I used one. I do sympathize with Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, and I do not like Catholic religious political parties, which have taken Mexico to an undeclared war for the last twelve years.

I hope with this I come clean on why I wrote that note.
