What Does It Mean to Be an American?

Right now Mexican students are trying to fix Mexico. The transition has to be from an Extractive country, to an Inclusive country. The United States of America already has these institutions since Jamestown, in 1607. There was no gold or silver, nor Indian Empires in Jamestown, like the one led by Cuauhtemoc in 1521. Hernan Cortes just took Cuauhtemoc's place and Mexico was born, as an eminent Extractive country. Not only the Spaniards extracted silver and gold, but they acquired armies of slaves to Extract work from.

To be an American means to obey the Law. No man is above the Law. This was the covenant the pilgrims agreed to, to live as neighbors, without exploiting each other. Inclusive Institutions were formed where all immigrants were included.

With the Obama administration, some Indian Treaties, like the Osage Treaty,  have been recognized, and also the American Indians are Included in these Institutions. These treaties allow Indians to own the oil and other resources in their territories, apart from the Casinos they operate for profit. I am proud of the United States of America, and I plan to apply for citizenship at the first opportunity.
