Food prices are going up in Mexico, as you can corroborate by watching Al Jazeera English. Through Democracy Now ! you can get the news about Mexican Poet Javier Sicilia, calling for Civil Disobedience if president Calderón does not respond with actions to the demands of families of the disappeared.
What about Mexican news media?
I follow La Jornada, and Proceso. I am informed of these problems through these channels also. Unfortunately the main media channels in Mexico and the US, are not telling people what is the sorry state of the Mexican situation.
I wouldn't be surprised if students, workers, and other poor people start to make the news, just like in Greece, Spain, and the North of Africa.
In any case, there is a presidential election for 2012.
