Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced his intention to run for President of Mexico in 2012 in a big meeting today at the Mexico City Zocalo.

My translation:

If we do not put this issue in the center of discussion and debate, he said, we won't go to the root causes of the problem. Material well being is important, but is not enough.
