Prof. D. W. Stahle

"However, mean maximum temperatures were higher across most of Mexico during the current drought for both the winter-spring and summer seasons (Figures 1e–1h), which appears to have contributed to the severity, persistence, and spatial impact of the early 21st-century drought, and which has elevated it into the category of historic drought."

"The Mexican tree ring record is well replicated back to A.D. 1750, but before 1500 it is based on only 11 chronologies. Nonetheless, the available evidence suggests that the early 21st century drought has become one of the worst in Mexico’s history."

The above quotes are taken from a recent article by Prof. Stahle et al.

I've been looking for signals of trouble, and down my very nose, I didn't know Mexico was in such stress.

Interesting.
