Dem. Sen. Chuck Schumer said Wed. it's time for the White House and Congress to overhaul immigration laws to stem the number of people coming into and living illegally in the US. "We can pass strong, fair, practical and effective immigration reform this year," said Schumer, D-NY. Obama plans to meet next month with a bipartisan group of leaders.
