What can I do?
From a young age I drew the attention of grownups and peers. Maybe they expected me to be a kind of big shot, maybe I also felt that way. Nevertheless here I am with nothing to show for myself.
I do see a mess around me, politicians offering what they cannot deliver here in Chilpancingo, thousands in danger tonight in Haiti. I feel like Chicken Little. I do have a pulpit, I teach around sixty kids this term. Nevertheless, I do not feel I am doing as much as I can.
More on Haiti.
``Reporting from Port-au-Prince, Haiti —
The edges of Hurricane Tomas raked over the southern peninsula of Haiti on Friday, flooding several cities and causing anxiety as it edged closer to the capital, where more than 1 million people remain in tent camps following the Jan. 12 earthquake.''
