Contradictions

I do believe in dialectal thinking. Ideas in our heads are in a continuous state of confrontation, also ideas lead to expectations not fulfilled , that lead us to change our ideas. And on, and on, and on. Even working class needs are not the needs of the owners of the means of production. Today Paul Krugman writes on this fundamental contradiction in the NYT.

At the end of the day, though; everything has to fall in place and contradictions dissolved. Nevertheless I feel these are special times, and I see social distress in several fronts. If contradictions are not resolved we may be heading for a wild ride.

Life is a constant battle to keep each and every cell of our body making more and more parts, to remain, to achieve a bit of permanence. The moment the cell stops making itself, producing itself, that moment that cell dies, and if enough cells die, our organs die, and then we die. Under normal circumstances the attacks on our integrity are manageable, but there come times when we fall from the fifth story of a building, say, and then our chances to maintain our integrity go almost to zero.

Autopoesis not only applies to our cells, it seems to me that other hierarchical levels are in equal danger, today a car bomb went off in Ciudad Juárez. How long before the Mexican Taliban starts going weird like the Muslim one. You may not know it, but our drug dealers, like La Familia in Michoacán are very religious. During the Mexican Revolution starting in 1910, there was a religious movement: Los Cristeros, my uncle Andrés Figueroa Figueroa fought them. They were Catholic Fundamentalist Warriors, I think we can call them Mexican Talibans.

From the Wikipedia article:

"For example, Father Luis Bátiz Sainz was the parish priest in Chalchihuites and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was known for his devotion to the Eucharist and for his prayer for martyrdom: "Lord, I want to be a martyr; even though I am your unworthy servant, I want to pour out my blood, drop by drop, for your name." In 1926, shortly before the closing of the churches, he was denounced as a conspirator against the government because of his connections with the National League for the Defense of Religious Liberty, which was preparing an armed uprising. A squad of soldiers raided the private house where he was staying on August 14 and took him captive. They executed him without trial together with three youths of the Mexican Association of Catholic Youth."

Anyway, now car-bombs in Juárez.

Sad.
