Politicians of the recent past took blame of the state of the economy. At least in the view of voters whom didn't renew their leases in their government mansions.
Last year I went to my mother's hometown in Guerrero, Mexico: Huitzuco. A smart woman told me the anectode of their town's president, a family friend of mine. He comes from a different party than the one that won the Revolution of a hundred years ago, and in which my great uncles fought. The people in the town are upset because it hasn't rained, so they voted for another party. Guess what? Still the same situation, it has not rained yet. What are the people of the town going to do? Keep changing political parties until it rains?
This sounds funny but is tragic. The majority of human beings are not prepared for the hard times that are coming. We'll get our share of false prophets. Humanity has gone through times like these before.
My advice: Study positive sciences, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. That way we may still have a chance, if we do not educate our children that way, we'll face extinction like so many sheep going to the slaughterhouse.
