Thirty Million Now, used to be Thirty Thousand Then

"According to a report in the AllThingsDigital blog, citing unnamed sources, the price of the deal was between $25 million and $30 million."

Today Reuters announced a Google acquisition in San Francisco. These millions are peanuts by the high stakes software industry standards of today.

In the old days Gates, ripped off a clueless programmer, and sold IBM for much more, what he spent very little to buy. Some predecessor  of DOS, or Disk Operating System.

It seems that the story repeats itself, but now the losers may be Gates et al., and the winners Page and Brin.

Sweet revenge.
