1804

That year Haiti became the first country in the Americas to fight for freedom. They were inspired by the slogan: Liberté, égalité, fraternité.

Now more than two hundred years later, Haiti is not free. This country is in dire need for help.

In 1810, Mexico did not exist, this part of the World was called New Spain. Napoleon had taken control over the Spanish government in Spain, authorities there abdicated power, and their Spanish protegés in America felt no allegiance to France. This political situation, together with an economic failure here in Mexico, were the immediate causes for the Independence War.

This year we are celebrating in Mexico one and two hundred years of the beginnings of the First Social Revolution of the twentieth century in 1910, and the Independence War of the previous paragraph.

In this moment of need, Mexicans are helping, with the little we have, our fellow Americans in Haiti. We are all Americans, we are all Africans, we are all Haitians. Borders will not help us during the testing times that are coming our way. If we are to survive as a Global Civilization, it will be because we raised to the occasion, and we all got together. Don't build more walls, don't separate people based on their skin color, or language, instead bring them togerther.

We need to come together.
