Guerrero, Jumping to Gold, and the Tooth Fairy

If you read this blog frequently,  you may know what those three things in the title have in common.

Here I go:

Guerrero is a state in Mexico that has gold.

The price of one ounce today is $1,219, as you can read in the LATimes. Finally Tom Friedman from the NYT, recently wrote about root canal, and the Tooth Fairy (below).

What I mean with that title is that if I belived in the Tooth Fairy, I should be jumping for joy, because Guerrero State, has tons of the stuff.

You know what, though? The owners of that gold are the same Europeans that came around here with Hernan Cortes four hundred years ago, and have been receiving all that silver and gold since then.

I won't get a penny of that money. Those ounces of gold, already have names written on them, and I know, mine is not there.
